Chemical Skin Peels

There may be a number of different reasons why your skin may benefit from a chemical skin peel. Blemishes, acne scars, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation and sun damage to name but a few. Light or superficial peels, such as a Glycolic Peel, work on the very top surface of the skin.

Medium and deep peels, such as Tricholoric Acid (TCA) and Phenol peels work on deeper levels of the skin. Because the solutions used are acidic, essentially they “burn” the layers of the skin, depending which depth is selected. The skin repairs itself by peeling away the top layers that have been treated, revealing “new” skin underneath.

Our Clinical nurse Specialist in Dermatology is specially trained to significantly improve the appearance and health of your skin using prescription grade chemical skin peels. She will choose the correct type of peel to address your specific skin concerns.

Who is Chemical Skin Peels suitable for?

Subject to initial medical screening, both men and women of any age can benefit from a chemical skin peel. You should NOT have treatment if you are pregnant, breast-feeding, suffer from Keloid scarring or have warts in the area to be treated.

How long does a Chemical Skin Peel take?

The time in the clinic will depend on the “depth” of skin peel being applied, but will typically be around 30 minutes. The length of time it takes to complete the peeling and repair process is also dependent on the “depth” of the skin peel, but the healing process will generally be between a few days and a couple of weeks.
