Thread / Spider Vein Removal with Veinwave®
Thread veins (often referred to as “spider veins”) on the face and on the legs can cause embarrassment, leading to a loss of self-esteem. Veinwave® technology utilises a gentle microwave current that causes the blood inside the thread veins to coagulate. This causes the walls of the thread veins to stick together. The microwave current is delivered via a tiny needle that is placed over the thread veins to be treated. While Veinwave® is usually carried out for thread veins on the face (particularly on and around the nose and cheeks), it can be performed on the legs. With many years experience, our Nurse Specialist understands the loss of self-esteem that thread veins can cause.
Who is Veinwave® treatment suitable for?
Subject to initial medical screening, both men and women of any age and with all skin types can benefit from the treatment. You should NOT have treatment if you are pregnant, are taking anti-coagulant medication, have a pacemaker in situ or if you have any allergies to nickel and gold.
If your thread veins are not elligible to be treated using Veinwave, you may be a suitable candidate for Sclerotherapy.

Veinwave Treatment
How long does Veinwave® treatment take?
A single Veinwave® treatment will usually take about 5-15 minutes on the face and up to 30 minutes on the legs. Most clients report that the treatment is uncomfortable and some clients find the treatment slightly painful, particularly in sensitive areas like, around the nose, behind the knees and the ankles. While improvements can be seen as early as after one treatment, some thread veins require a number of sessions to achieve the desired results. Patients may experience a slight redness immediately after treatment, but this will fade. Treatment for leg veins can take a while to resolve.
How much does treatment cost?
A single treatment session costs £150 for a 5 minute session, £200 for a 15 minute session, and £300 for two 15 minute sessions. As treatments for leg veins often require a number of treatment session, a course of eight sessions can be purchased for £800.
