Psoriasis Treatment
Psoriasis is a common, yet poorly understood chronic skin condition that mainly affects many areas of the body, including the scalp and the ears. Psoriasis sufferers may experience a lot of itching and discomfort from the skin lesions.
Although psoriasis is rarely a serious medical condition, it often causes emotional distress. While there is no cure for psoriasis, with the right treatment, the appearance of the lesions and the discomfort can be minimised. With many years experience in dermatology, our Nurse Consultant understands the emotional distress caused by psoriasis. She will be able to prescribe the most up to date creams and prescription medications. She may also recommend a course of Psoriasis Phototherapy.
Who is Psoriasis Phototherapy suitable for?
Subject to initial medical screening, both men and women of any age can benefit from the treatment. You should NOT have treatment if you are pregnant, breast-feeding or if you suffer from epilepsy.
How long does a Psoriasis Phototherapy treatment take?
A Psoriasis Phototherapy treatment normally takes around thirty minutes. Unlike laser treatment, discomfort from Psoriasis Phototherapy is minimal to non-existent. Redness may occur, but this is temporary. Event after one treatment, most clients notice an improvement in the condition. Improvements will become more evident with every treatment.
