Mole and Skin Tag Removal
Moles, skin tags and other skin lesions can be removed quickly and painlessly at one of our daily minor surgery clinics. Many people have moles and skin lesions on the face and on the body and these unsightly skin lesions can cause embarrassment and a loss of self esteem.

A Skin Tag
With many years experience in dermatology, our nurse specialist understands the distress that these skin lesions can cause. Following a local anaesthetic injection, the mole is scraped off using a curette, which is like a spoon with very sharp edges. The wound surface is then cauterised using an electrosurgical unit (diathermy). This stops any bleeding. If necessary, the mole may be sent to a laboratory for analysis. In this instance, a report will be forwarded to your GP.
Cryotherapy is an alternative treatment that may be considered for some skin lesions.
Who is Mole Removal suitable for?
Subject to initial medical screening, both men and women of any age and with all skin types can benefit from the treatment. You should NOT have treatment if you are taking anti-coagulant medication.
How long does Mole Removal take?
A single treatment will usually take about 20-30 minutes, depending on how many moles you want removed. The treated area may be tender when the anaesthetic wears off. There are no stitches to remove after the procedure and the wound will take approximately 7-10 days to heal on the face and up to 3 weeks to heal on the body. The procedure normally results in a white/pink blemish that fades with time.
How much does it cost to have a mole removed?
We charge £200 to remove one mole or large skin tag, £280 to remove two moles, £350 to remove three moles, £400 to remove four moles and £50 for each additional mole thereafter. Very tiny skin tags that can be removed using cryotherapy can be removed for £100 per 15 minute session. Xanthoma (fatty deposits around the eyes caused by having a high cholesterol)removal costs between £250-£300 per eye.
