Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis) Treatments in Essex & London
Hyperhidrosis means excessive sweating. Sweating is one of the most important ways in which the body loses heat, however, people with Hyperhidrosis produce sweat in amounts far greater than needed to control their temperature.
Botulinum Toxin Type A (Boto®x) is a very pure preparation of a protein. When small doses are injected into the skin, the medication blocks the actions of the nerves that supply the eccrine glands; this prevents the glands from producing sweat.
Who is treatment suitable for?
Subject to initial medical screening, both men and women of any age and with all skin types can benefit from the treatment. You should NOT have treatment if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
How long does treatment take?
Using a very fine needle, a small amount of the medication is injected into 10 to 15 places about 1cm apart and spread evenly in each armpit. Sometimes a dye is used to show up the areas where sweating is greatest and where the injections should be placed. A single treatment takes about 30 minutes. You should notice some change for the better within a week of your treatment.
Effects last between 3-6 months.
How much does treatment cost?
A single treatment session costs from £400 to £500, depending on the dosage required.
How do I book an appoinment?
You can either call the clinic on 01268 770660 between the hours of 9.30am and 5pm Monday to Saturday or you can complete an online booking request form and one of our reception team will contact you by phone or email, whichever you prefer. You will be asked to pay a £30 deposit (by credit/debit card or Paypal) on confirming your appointment. This deposit will be deducted from your treatment costs.
