Botulinum Toxin Type A (Boto®x treatment) is probably the most popular cosmetic medical treatment for facial lines and wrinkles in the UK and can be used successfully in combination with other rejuvenation treatments.

Botulinum Toxin Type A temporarily relaxes the muscles under the skin so that when you frown or smile, the treated muscles stay relaxed and don’t crease the skin. Softening lines in the facial area, i.e. the forehead (horizontal forehead lines); eyes (crows feet); frown lines between the eyebrows; neck area; under eyes; chin. This treatment is also very successful at treating excessive perspiration (hyperhidrosis), which can be a problem for some people. It has also been demonstrated to improve tension headaches and migraine in some individuals.
Who is wrinkle relaxation treatment suitable for?
Subject to initial medical screening, both men and women of any age and with all skin types can benefit from the treatment. You should NOT have treatment if you have any neuro-muscular disorders.
How long does a wrinkle relaxation treatment take?
A single treatment will usually take about 10-20 minutes. It is a painless treatment, and improvements can be seen within 3-14 days. Patients may experience a slight redness and swelling immediately after treatment, but this quickly fades.
