Rosacea Phototherapy

Rosacea is a common, yet poorly understood chronic skin condition that mainly affects the face and is characterised by episodes of facial flushing. Rosacea sufferers may experience spots and persistent redness of their skin.

Although rosacea is rarely a serious medical condition, it often causes emotional distress. While there is no cure for rosacea, with the right treatment, the episodes of facial flushing can be minimised. With many years experience in dermatology, our Nurse Specialist understands the emotional distress caused by rosacea.

Who is Rosacea Phototherapy suitable for?

Subject to initial medical screening, both men and women of any age can benefit from the treatment. You should NOT have treatment if you are pregnant, breast-feeding or if you suffer from epilepsy.

How long does a Rosacea Phototherapy treatment take?

A Rosacea Phototherapy treatment normally takes around thirty minutes. Unlike laser treatment, discomfort from Rosacea Phototherapy is minimal to non-existent. Redness may occur, but this is temporary. Event after one treatment, most clients notice an improvement in facial flushing. Improvements will become more evident with every treatment.

We will make recommendations from the range of options available, both at Elan Medical Aesthetic Centre and those available elsewhere and advice you of potential outcomes, including side-effects and potential problems.
